Comara is a small, founder-led travel company, and we treat your information the way we'd want our own treated — carefully, and only as much as we need. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@comara.travel and a person will answer.

Comara is operated by Querra Reserve LLC (doing business as Comara), a Wyoming limited liability company. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Comara," that's who we mean. For privacy questions, we are the company responsible for your information (the "data controller").

The short version

• We collect your name and email when you join our list, ask us a question, or request a place on a journey — plus the details you choose to share with us along the way.

• We use it to send you pricing, dates, and news you asked for, to answer you, and to plan and run our trips.

• We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it to let anyone else market to you.

• You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, or unsubscribe, at any time — just email us.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you join a waitlist, sign up for news, send an inquiry, or request a place on a trip, you may give us your name, email address, the journey you're interested in, and anything else you choose to include in a message. If you go on to book, we'll collect the further details needed to actually take you traveling — things like billing information, emergency contacts, dietary needs, and travel or passport details. We only ask for what a given step requires.

Information collected automatically. Our website is hosted on Wix, and like most websites it uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the site is used in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie banner shown on our site. We don't use this information to build advertising profiles of you.

We don't knowingly collect any more than this, and we don't collect sensitive information unless you volunteer it for a clear purpose (for example, a dietary or accessibility need so we can plan your trip well).

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

• send you the pricing, dates, and news about Comara journeys that you asked to receive;

• respond to your questions and requests;

• plan, arrange, and run the trips you book, including coordinating with the hotels, guides, transport providers, and insurers a journey requires;

• keep our small business running — record-keeping, security, and meeting our legal and tax obligations;

• and, occasionally, improve what we offer based on what's working.

We will not use your information for a new, unrelated purpose without telling you first.

Our legal bases (for travelers in the EU, EEA, and UK)

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, data protection law asks us to name a legal basis for using your information. Ours are:

• Your consent — for sending you marketing emails and waitlist updates. You can withdraw it anytime.

• A contract with you — to take a request, arrange, and deliver a journey you've booked.

• Our legitimate interests — to run, secure, and improve our business in ways that don't override your rights.

• Legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep certain records.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the people and services needed to do what you've asked, including:

• Service providers who run things on our behalf — our website host (Wix), our email platform, and, once you book, a payment processor. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.

• Trip partners, when you've booked a journey — the hotels, ground-transport company, guides, activity hosts, and travel insurer involved in your specific trip, given only what they need to host you well.

• Authorities or advisors, if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our travelers.

• A successor, if Comara is ever sold or merged, in which case your information would pass to the new owner under this same policy.

That's the whole list. We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it so that others can advertise to you.

Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies to function and to give us a general, anonymized sense of how it's used. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser, though some parts of the site may then work less smoothly. Where required, we'll ask your choice through a banner when you arrive.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it. If you're on a waitlist or news list, we keep your details until you ask to come off, or until we no longer run the kind of trips you signed up for. If you book a journey, we keep your booking records for as long as the law and our insurance and tax obligations require, and then we remove them.

Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

• Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message, or by writing to us.

• Ask to see the information we hold about you.

• Correct anything that's wrong.

• Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it.

• Object to or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent you've given.

• Ask for a copy of the information you gave us, in a portable form.

To exercise any of these, email [hello@comara.travel] and we'll take care of it. We won't treat you any differently for asking.

If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're a resident of California, Colorado, or another US state with privacy laws, you have rights to know, access, correct, and delete your information, and to not be discriminated against for using them — and the same email reaches us. Because we don't sell or share your information for advertising, there's nothing for you to opt out of on that front.

Where your information is handled

Comara is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed here. If you're writing to us or traveling with us from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and handled in the US. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for that transfer; by sharing your information with us, you understand it will be handled in the US as described here.

Children

Comara's journeys and this website are intended for adults. We don't direct our services to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we'll remove it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable measures to keep your information safe and limit who can see it. No method of storing or sending data is ever perfectly secure, but we take the care a company entrusted with your travel plans should.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell the people on our list directly.
